This is the first post of my new blog. I figured i would start a new one to coincide with the new stage of my life. As you can see in the picture below I got engaged on 10-9-10, maybe I should have waited until 10-10-10, that would have been cool. Here is how it went down. We drove down to Sebring, FL to see our friends Katie and Aaron Bloemsma last Friday. On Saturday we spent the afternoon at Aaron's Uncle's house which is on a small private lake. His house is awesome by the way, the ultimate mans house. Well we spend the day tubing, knee boarding, and wake boarding. Side note, I wake boarded for the first time and got up the first time! Any way, after all that we grilled out some hot dogs for dinner (real romantic). The girls then laid out on the small beach while us guys watched football. I had to wait for the sun to set so I could pop the question. Once the sun was where i wanted it to be I walked Stephanie out to shore to take some pictures with the sunset. At this point my hands started to shake and my heart was beating like crazy, but she still had no idea what was about to happen. I slid my camera in one pocket and pulled out the ring box from the other. I told her I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I wanted to say more but I was nervous and my voice was shaky so I kept it short. I think about this time she realized it when she put her hand on my chest and felt my heart racing. So I dropped to one knee and opened the box and asked her to marry me. She was so excited and SHE SAID YES!! Well we spent the next few minutes talking, hugging, kissing... the Katie and Aaron walked up and took some pictures for us. We then walked down to the dock to take some more pics and Aaron's uncle walked up and gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Steph's first comment was that is smelled like pee, so she didn't drink it. So that is how it happened and I will be marrying my best friend.

So the wedding is set for March 19, 2011 and we hope all of our friends will be able to attend. We are so excited about our engagement and spending the rest of our lives together.
